Chandrababu Naidu visited Rushikonda Palace as Chief Minister, reportedly astonished by its opulence.
He criticized the lavish use of public funds, claiming he had traveled to many countries, and stated that even the Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad pales in comparison.
He remarked that there were no corridors like those in the White House or Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Naidu explained that the palace was designed for optimal sea views.
He expressed disbelief at the luxurious buildings in Rushikonda, suggesting that even during royal reigns, such grandeur was unmatched.
He pointed out that the palace features a 100 kV substation, 200 tons of central air conditioning, and fancy fans.
Furthermore, he noted that a conference hall capable of hosting three hundred people had been constructed, along with a block for staff.
Naidu sarcastically questioned the intelligence of those who oversaw such expenditures, wondering who truly benefits from the extravagant palace.
He accused Jagan of misusing public money for luxury, urging citizens to hold previous YSRCP rulers accountable for such opulence.
While YSRCP leaders claim Naidu praised Jagan, TDP leaders assert he strongly criticized him. Public interest in the palace continues to grow, prompting Naidu to challenge YSRCP leaders to justify its construction.
