TDP angry with Pattabhi: What's up?

A couple of days ago, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, while addressing the newly-appointed corporation chairpersons and other office-bearers at the party office, made pointed remarks about some party leaders who were upset for not finding their names on the list of nominated posts.

“Some leaders are making hasty comments. This is not appropriate. They should remember that we prioritize loyalty and discipline. This is just the first list, where we accommodated those who couldn’t secure party tickets in the recent elections,” Naidu said.

He reassured that just because some leaders weren’t included in the first list doesn’t mean they hadn’t worked hard for the party during the elections.

“Yes, some of them even went to jail. They, too, will receive recognition, but until then, they should work for the party with patience,” he added. Readmore!

Sources suggest Naidu’s comments were directed at senior TDP leader and party spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhi.

It has reportedly come to the attention of Naidu and general secretary Nara Lokesh that Pattabhi has been expressing his grievances to party colleagues and even media persons, alleging that his efforts have been overlooked despite his dedication and personal risks for the party.

Pattabhi has reportedly complained about not being able to get an appointment with Lokesh.

He allegedly remarked that if senior leaders like him can’t access Lokesh, the situation for ordinary party workers would be even worse. His wife, Chandana, is also said to be upset with the TDP leadership.

Sources claim Lokesh has taken Pattabhi’s comments seriously. He believes Pattabhi is putting on a show in the media, while many other party leaders worked diligently at the grassroots level during the elections.

Although Pattabhi has not crossed the line of discipline and continues to represent the TDP in television debates, Lokesh is reportedly very displeased with him.

“He cannot blackmail the party by making behind-the-scenes comments. The party has decided to keep a close watch on him before taking any further action,” sources said.
