Will Revanth get nod for cabinet expansion?

As part of his routine, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is heading to New Delhi on Wednesday evening to meet with the party high command.

As usual, there is speculation that he will seek approval from the high command for a long-pending cabinet expansion.

According to party sources, after the high command cleared the name of senior leader B Mahesh Kumar Goud for the position of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president, following a three-month-long suspense, their focus has now shifted to Revanth Reddy's cabinet expansion.

The chief minister is expected to meet with top party leaders on Thursday evening to discuss the matter. Readmore!

"In all likelihood, the high command will give the green light for the cabinet expansion this time," said a PCC leader.

Revanth Reddy took office as chief minister on December 7 last year, along with 11 cabinet ministers. Since then, there has been no reshuffle or expansion of the cabinet, despite six more positions remaining vacant.

Several key portfolios, including home, municipal administration, mining, and social welfare, are still vacant and are currently being handled by Revanth Reddy himself. As a result, these positions will need to be filled.

As the high command initiates the process for cabinet expansion, several aspirants have begun lobbying for cabinet positions.

Among those vying for ministerial roles are Gaddam Vivek and his brother Gaddam Vinod from Adilabad, Prem Sagar Rao from Mancherial, Sudershan Reddy from Bodhan in Nizamabad, Malreddy Ranga Reddy from Ranga Reddy district, P. Rammohan Reddy from Parigi, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy from Nalgonda, Srihari Mudiraj from Makthal, and Shabbir Ali and Mohd Azharuddin from Hyderabad.
