YSR replaces Rajiv in Arogya Sri scheme!

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy who has vowed to bring back “Rajanna Rajyam” in the state, is doing it literally by naming every scheme after his father late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.

Close on the heels of renaming the pension scheme NTR Bharosa as YSR Pension Kanuka, NTR Anna canteens as Rajanna Canteens and mid-day meals scheme as YSR Akshaya Patra, the YSRC chief has changed the name of one more scheme on Monday.

At a review meeting on medical and health department, Jagan announced that the healthcare scheme of the state would be renamed as “Dr YSR Arogya Sri”.

During the Y S Rajasekhar Reddy regime, it was called Rajiv Arogya Sri and after Telugu Desam Party headed by N Chandrababu Naidu took over as the chief minister in 2014, he changed it as NTR Arogya Sri. Readmore!

Now, both NTR and Rajiv Gandhi’s names have gone into the dust bin and it will now be called Dr YSR Arogya Sri.

Jagan suggested that the public health care should be given more importance than encouraging  private hospitals, whose role in Arogya Sri be reduced. He also asked the officials to improve conditions in government hospitals, particularly in interior villages.

The chief minister also decided to increase the salary of accredited social health activist (ASHA) workers from Rs 3,000 to Rs.10,000. It may be mentioned that during his padayatra, he promised ASHA workers to increase their salaries.
