People are not happy with us, admits Naidu

In a candid but surprising confession, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu admitted that the people at the grassroots level are not fully satisfied with his government.

Addressing the 5th district collectors’ conference at Amaravati on Wednesday, Naidu said though everything appeared to be alright, the feedback is that the people are not happy with the government services.

“You may think you are doing the best to the people. At times, I, too, feel I am performing well. But the ground reality is different. The people are not happy with us. We need to enhance the public satisfaction with government services,” he said.

The chief minister pointed out that some people had indicated to him that even a Rs 15,000 pension was not enough and that overall satisfaction is not where it should be. Readmore!

Naidu stressed that top priority must be given to increasing the satisfaction levels of people regarding public services to build confidence and trust in the government.

Naidu ordered officials to clear files promptly and improve the work culture, noting that a lack of resolution was particularly prevalent in the revenue department.

He called for decisions to be made through data-driven governance to identify loopholes and ensure efficient service delivery.

While expressing happiness over achieving a 92% satisfaction level in pension distribution, he insisted that numbers alone are insufficient and ground-level satisfaction must increase in all areas.
