Why Delhi leaders for gully elections, asks KTR

Bharatiya Janata Party, which is taking the elections to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation seriously, is roping in its national leaders one after the other to campaign for the party.

While Union minister Prakash Javdekar was in the city a couple of days ago to release the charge-sheet against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government, it was the turn of Smriti Irani on Wednesday.

In the next three days, several seniors are expected to visit Hyderabad to campaign for the BJP. They include former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath Das and even Union home minister Amit Shah.

The TRS has taken the visits of the top BJP leaders to Hyderabad with a pinch of salt. Party working president and state IT minister K T Rama Rao said his party would welcome the top leadership of BJP to the state who are coming for campaigning for the local municipal election in Hyderabad.  Readmore!

“It would have been much better if the same leaders had come to Hyderabad when the city was facing heavy rains and floods,” KTR said during his roadshow in Uppal.

“Since they are visiting the city, they can pay a visit to Durgam Cheruvu bridge, Annapurna Centres, and Basti Dawakhanas too,” said KTR.

KTR went on and said, “Instead of coming with empty hands, I request them to bring along the Rs 1350 Crore financial assistance (for relief measures in rain-affected colonies) which CM KCR had requested for in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
