The much-anticipated box office clash between Yash’s Toxic and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 on March 19 will no longer take place.
The makers of Toxic have officially postponed the film’s release, announcing that it will now hit theatres worldwide on June 4, 2026.
The decision was attributed to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, which the team said could affect the film’s ability to reach a wide global audience. Yash confirmed the development by sharing an official note on X.
Sharing the update, Yash wrote, “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups – in cinemas worldwide on 4 June 2026.”
In the statement, the team explained that Toxic was conceived as a film aimed at a global audience. Shot in Kannada and English, the project was designed to connect with viewers not only in India but across international markets.
“After years of dedicated effort, we were excited to bring the film to audiences on March 19,” the note said. “However, the current uncertainty, especially in the Middle East, has created conditions that impact our goal of reaching the widest possible audience. In the interest of our partners and viewers, we have taken the difficult but carefully considered decision to reschedule the release.”
With Toxic moving out of the March 19 slot, Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 will now arrive as the sole major release on that date.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under the banners KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations.
The film has been shot in Kannada and English and will also release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam dubbed versions.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film features a star-studded cast including Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth, alongside Kannada superstar Yash.
