V6 Vivek Unlikely To Get MP Ticket?

The initiation of the debate on Motion of Thanks to Governor’s address in the state assembly by Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA from Dharmapuri Koppula Eshwar on Sunday has led to a couple of interesting speculations in the media.

One, that Eshwar got the chance to initiate the debate though there were other seniors among the party MLAs indicates he is likely to get the berth in the cabinet of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Secondly, it has also sent a strong message that advisor to the government on inter-state issues and former MP from Peddapalli parliamentary constituency Gaddam Vivek is unlikely to get the party ticket in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

As Vivek allegedly made an all-out effort to defeat Koppula Eshwar, besides a couple of other TRS MLAs including Chennur MLA Balka Suman and Bellampalli MLA Durgam Chinnaiah. Obviously, promoting Eshwar would mean snubbing Vivek. Readmore!

Party sources said TRS working president K T Rama Rao is not interested in giving the party ticket to Vivek as there had been allegations against him that he tried to sabotage the chances of some TRS candidates in Peddapalli LS constituency.

Secondly, KTR is also angry with Vivek launching his own Telugu newspaper – Velugu, despite instructions from TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Though Vivek told the father and son that he had launched the newspaper only as part of his business diversification and he had no political intentions.

Though the paper has been by and large pro-TRS, the chief minister and his son have not taken Vivek’s decision kindly, as they felt the daily would become a threat to Namasthe Telangana, the mouth piece of TRS.

Thirdly, KCR is angry with Vivek for not able to convince his elder brother G Vinod from contesting the assembly elections from Bellampalli as a rebel on BSP ticket.

Though Vinod lost the elections to TRS candidate Durgam Chinnaiah, his rebellion was not tolerated by the TRS leadership.

So, taking all these into consideration, it is unlikely that Vivek will get the TRS ticket for Peddapalli Lok Sabha constituency as promised earlier.

The party is said to be looking for an alternative candidate and Suman is actively campaigning against Vivek.
