Microsoft founder Bill Gates is not expected to attend the India AI Impact Summit, according to government sources on Tuesday.
The sources said the government had reviewed Gates’ invitation after his name surfaced in the Epstein files.
Officials indicated that the decision was taken in the interest of “standing with the survivors.” Following the review, Gates’ name has been removed from the AI Impact Summit’s official website.
The development comes after files linked to Jeffrey Epstein were released by the U.S. Department of Justice.
The documents mention several high-profile figures from politics, business and global institutions, triggering renewed scrutiny and public backlash.
While there is no official statement from Gates or Microsoft, the move signals growing sensitivity among governments and institutions over associations highlighted in the Epstein-related disclosures.
