Kunchala Sasikrishna, the youth who killed B Tech student Ramya at Pedakakani in Guntur district was given death punishment by the court on Friday.
The FastTrack court from Guntur pronounced the judgment on Friday observing that the accused doesn’t deserve any sympathy.
The accused had also tried to escape from the court during the trial period, which the court took serious note.
Sasikrishna forced the B tech student Ramya to marry him. As she refused, he called her for a tea in the morning of August 15, 2021.
After a brief argument between the two near a tea shop, Sasikrishna stabbed the girl to death and fled from the scene.
He was later arrested by the police near Narasaraopet of Palnadu district.
The Guntur district police completed the investigation in 15 days and filed the charge sheet under the Disha Act.
The state government responded swiftly giving Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia to the family, besides giving house site, another Rs 10 lakh for house, employment to Ramya’s younger sister and 5 acres of land to the family.
Ramya’s parents said that the swift action from the police and the intervention of the government helped in the early completion of hearing in the court.
The family thanked the police, the court and the government for doing justice to the family and punishing the criminal.
