Rajinikanth responded to the Hema Committee report which exposes issues like sexual harassment, lack of basic facilities, gender bias and pay disparities in the Malayalam film industry leaving it in shock.
At Chennai airport when asked about the report Rajinikanth appeared unaware stating, "I don’t know anything about that."

Meanwhile, Mohanlal of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), resigned along with the 17-member executive committee following the report's release which highlighted widespread sexual exploitation.
Mohanlal emphasized that the entire Malayalam film industry not just AMMA is accountable for addressing the report's findings.
Mammootty also spoke out about the report expressing his support for necessary changes to improve the industry.
