Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who used to project the image of a dignified leader in the past, has now given up all his inhibitions.
After facing several hardships in the last five years of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy regime and struggling to bring his party back to power in the recent elections, Naidu looks a completely changed man.
Shedding the image of a “pedda manishi” (gentleman), the TDP chief has turned aggressive and has been making strong comments against his political rival – Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and the YSRCP leaders and warning them of stringent action.
On Wednesday, Naidu spoke like a typical police sub-inspector.
“If these people (YSRCP leaders) try to create law and order issue, I will break their bones. If they come out and burn temple chariots and damage Prakasam barrage with boats, I will hold them by collar and throw them behind bars,” he warned.
The chief minister also threatened to show the power of the government, if “you (Jagan) try to create problems with your criminal background,” he said.
Naidu even called the YSRCP leaders “ambothulu” (stray bullocks), stating that they were behaving like irresponsible people.
“Don’t think I am a helpless person. I am going to establish a system that can help identify people who create troubles to the government. If anybody conspire against the government, Khabardar!” he said.
During the recent floods to Vijayawada, too, Naidu pulled up Jagan for trying to politicise the flood situation.
“I will make him sit on the donkey and take him in a procession around the streets,” he warned.
Naidu said that it has become a habit for some persons to cause destruction and pass the blame onto others.
"It is our primary duty to safeguard the lives of the people and maintain law and order. We will not tolerate if anyone tries to cause any kind of hurdles to this," the chief minister noted.
