Common Man: Remove Voting Right For Govt Employees

A self recorded video clipping of a common man is going viral in the social media circuit. He seems to be a small shopkeeper.

He read out the headline, from a News Daily, about the protest of government employees and expressed himself as following:

"These government employees never pledge in public that they would adhere to their duties and responsibilities without troubling the people with corruption.

But when a small part was cut down from their salaries they came onto the roads to protest. All that they do regularly is nothing but going to work at 10 AM, taking a long lunch break and spending the second half of the day for some time. They go to their homes by 6PM.

In the government sector the salaries are increased phenomenally in the name of DA, HRA etc and they are running into lakhs for a normal job.

These government teachers never make their children study in government schools. When their salaries are reduced a little temporarily, they leave the students and come onto the roads.

These government employees are belly full and now doing more politics than work. They are giving warnings that they have power to collapse the government. If they say so, it is better to take away their voting rights as well.

There is no sympathy for government employees in the public. Except the medical and police department, no other department worked much during the pandemic lockdown.

Many businessmen lost their livelihood during that time. But these employees were given full salaries making them sit at home.

The salaries of government employees is a big burden to the government exchequer. It is ok to increase their salaries at the rate of Rs 1000 or Rs 500 per year as an increment. But the phenomenal increase is always detrimental.

My appeal to the government of AP is to cut down their salaries and keep them in control".

Well, the common man vents out his disgust on the government employees who are reputed for corruption and accumulation of wealth.

At the same time, the private employees who work on targets to earn their monthly salary surely resonate with the voice of this common man.

There are many employees in private companies who work for lesser salaries based on targets. When they under perform they will be ousted unlike the government employees who have the luxury to stay in the job till they turn 60 years despite under performance.

Many among the common people feel that it is enough to pay good salaries for the employees in the Health and the Home sector but the salaries in the rest of the departments can be kept under strict control.
