Former minister P Narayana got bail in the SSC question paper leakage. Chittoor district judge granted bail to Narayana.
The judge directed Narayana to provide two persons’ surety with Rs 1 lakh each before May 18.
The former minister was produced before the court after medical tests in the Chittoor government general hospital.
Narayana’s advocates told the magistrate that Narayana is not the chairman of the Narayana Group of Educational Institutions.
They told the court that Narayana had resigned to the post in 2014 and is not connected to the institutions.
The judge accepted the argument and granted bail asking him to provide surety before May 18.
TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu was closely monitoring the arrest and the subsequent developments.
He was in close contact with the advocates from the time of his arrest in Hyderabad to the time he was taken to the hospital for check-up and produced before the magistrate.
Narayana was arrested by the CID police in Hyderabad and was taken to Chittoor. Narayana school vice-principal Giridhar Reddy besides others were arrested in the case earlier by the CID police.
The police have arrested 60 teachers, both from the Narayana schools and the government schools.
The police alleged that they tracked the telephone numbers of some accused and some suspects who are behind the question paper leakage.
Meanwhile, Ministers Botsa Satyanarayana and Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy told media persons that some teachers have conspired to damage the government by leaking the question paper during the examination.
The question papers were intentionally sent out through the mobile phones only to defame the government, the police said.
The Ministers alleged that the TDP was conspiring against the government and encouraging everyone to indulge in irregularities to defame the government with political intentions.
