Senior Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, known to be a rebellious character having made serious comments against chief minister A Revanth Reddy for denying him a berth in the state cabinet, appears to be still hoping to get the ministerial post.
Expressing renewed confidence, Rajagopal Reddy told reporters on Saturday that he firmly believes that, if fortune favours him, he would soon be entrusted with a “good responsibility” in the government.
He stated that he has waited patiently so far and remains hopeful that a ministerial position will come his way in the near future.
His remarks have quickly become a topic of debate not only within Congress circles but also across the political landscape of the Telugu states.
Rajagopal Reddy has, in the past, openly spoken about assurances allegedly given by the Congress high command at the time of his induction into the party, promising him a ministerial role.
He has repeatedly expressed disappointment over the delay in fulfilling that promise and has not hesitated to voice his dissatisfaction during media interactions.
At times, his comments on internal party dynamics even sparked controversy, drawing attention to underlying tensions within the Congress.
However, his latest remarks reflect a noticeably more positive and restrained tone, which political observers say marks a shift in approach.
The MLA asserted that he has been consistently working towards the development of his constituency and continues to do so even after the Congress assumed power in the State.
He maintained that if he were given ministerial responsibilities, he would be able to accelerate and expand developmental works on a much larger scale.
Political analysts believe that Rajagopal Reddy’s newfound optimism could indicate positive signals from the party leadership.
With discussions underway about a possible Cabinet expansion in the coming days, his name is increasingly being mentioned as a contender, adding to speculation within Congress ranks.
