KCR lost faith in his son's political abilities?

It appears Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has lost his faith in the abilities of his son and state IT minister K T Rama Rao in handling the political affairs of his party.

It was evident from the way the chief minister himself taking up the responsibility of personally overseeing the electioneering of the party’s candidates in the ongoing elections to the state legislative council from graduates’ constituencies.

Hitherto, KTR, also the working president of the TRS, was taking care of the election campaign of the two candidates – Palla Rajeshwar Reddy from Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates’ constituency and Surabhi Vani Devi from Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy-Mahabubnagar graduates’ constituency.

He held a series of meetings with party leaders from both the constituencies and worked out strategies for the victory of the TRS candidates. He even warned the party leaders against any laxity in the campaign. Readmore!

However, a couple of days ago, KCR reportedly got the intelligence inputs that the party’s chances in the MLC elections in both the constituencies are bleak and the party has failed to work out its strategies well.

According to party sources, KCR, who realised the gravity of the situation, has asked KTR to stay away from the MLC elections process and instead, concentrate on the membership enrolment drive. He directly swung into action to plan the campaign strategy.

He roped his nephew T Harish Rao, state finance minister, into the campaign for Surabhi Vani Devi and asked Errabelli to take care of Palla Rajeshwar Reddy’s campaign.

While Harish Rao would be assisted by Sabita Indra Reddy, Gangula Kamalakar and Vemula Prashant Reddy, Errabelli would be assisted by Satyavathi Rathod, G Jagadish Reddy and Puvvada Ajay Kumar. They would handle the entire campaign strategy, sources said.

“In a way, it is a sort of snubbing for KTR. May be, the chief minister thought KTR’s image would go down even if one candidate loses the elections. He doesn’t want to get his son face the humiliation,” sources said.
