A flex board erected at Yerragondapalem in Prakasam district on Monday landed the Telugu Desam Party leadership in the most embarrassing situation.
The flex which read: “Junior NTR is next CM of Andhra Pradesh. Happy New Year.” It has pictures of various TDP leaders of the district, apart from that of Junior NTR.
The flex board has become a hot topic of discussion among the TDP leaders and cadre in the district, though nobody is able to tell who has sponsored it and got it erected. But it certainly caused a lot of embarrassment to the party leaders.
Locals say similar posters and flex boards were erected in Prakasam district even in the past. Even if one were to assume that the opponents of the TDP could have put up the same to create troubles in the TDP, nobody condemned the same openly.
One thing is clear that the TDP cadres are thoroughly in a state of despair with the party being in low spirits. While TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has not been able to take on the YSR Congress party so strongly, there is no alternative leadership emerging in the party.
That is perhaps why they are demanding that Junior NTR get into active politics of the TDP and resurrect it, so that it can put up a tough fight in the next elections.
