HC doubts KCR govt on Corona testing!

The Telangana high court on Friday expressed doubts over the number of tests being conducted to find out the exact number of Coronavirus positive cases in the state.

The high court, which heard arguments over a batch of public interest litigation petitions on the spread of Coronavirus in Telangana through video conferencing system, asked the government to submit a comprehensive report to the court by April 24.

Expressing concern over the growing number of Covid-19 positive cases in the state, the court asked the government on what steps it was taking reduce the impact of the disease and the number of actual tests it had done so far.

The high court also found fault with the highhanded behaviour of the police on the people in the name of violation of lockdown norms.

The advocate general, arguing on behalf of the state government, told the court that Director General of Police had given clear instructions to the police not to beat the people but take action only as per the law.

The court, however, asked the DGP to submit a report on the rude behaviour of the police on the people and action taken against such erring police officials.
