After the mammoth blockbusters that were Baahubali films from Telugu industry, 2.0 from Tamil industry, the Kannada industry saw the release of their magnum opus KGF: Chapter 1.
The trailers of the film had received a lot of love across India and the movie was expected to do well. But, in its Hindi version, it was facing tough competition from Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero.
While it took a flying start in its Kannada version, the Hindi version struggled on day one with a low collection of Rs 2.10 crore, however, the positive word of mouth came into the picture and it helped the movie grow its collection manifolds.
KGF saw good growth in its opening weekend, but it was the stronghold on weekdays which suggested that the movie has been accepted by the audience.
On its day 6, KGF made Rs 2.90 crore which is bigger than its opening day.
Talking about KGF's box office collection, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, "#KGF shows solid trending... Day 6 is higher than Day 1, which indicates that the positive word of mouth has come into play... Fri 2.10 cr, Sat 3 cr, Sun 4.10 cr, Mon 2.90 cr, Tue 4.35 cr, Wed 2.60 cr. Total: ₹ 19.05 cr.
