Rajinikanth's latest movie, Vettaiyan, is directed by Gnanavel known for his successful film 'Jai Bhim'. The Telugu distribution rights for the film have been sold for a substantial Rs 14 crores, reflecting the high expectations surrounding the movie.
Rajnikanth is the main face of the film. Telugu actor Rana plays the villain in the film. Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil, known for his impressive performances, is also part of the cast. Amitabh Bachchan has a key role in this movie, and Manju Warrier is expected to be an attraction for the audience.
Given this star-studded combination, there was considerable interest from Telugu producers. Knowing the positive talk about the film from inside sources, some Telugu producers were eager to secure the rights.
However, the Asian company, which has been consistently producing successful films, has acquired the rights. The Ceded rights were taken by NV Prasad.
The Andhra region (non-Ceded) is expected to be sold for Rs 7-9 crores, while the Naizam rights are valued at Rs 7 crores. Vettaiyan is scheduled for release in October.
