Dhurandhar Part One is currently streaming on Netflix, while the sequel, Dhurandhar Part Two: Revenge, will premiere on JioHotstar.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Netflix had earlier shown interest in acquiring the streaming rights for both parts together even before the first film hit theatres.
A source quoted by the publication said, “Netflix wanted to buy both instalments for â¹175 crore prior to the release of the first part.”
However, confident about the film’s potential, Jio Studios chose to wait for the theatrical response. That strategy appears to have paid off.
After the strong performance of the first part, Jio Studios reportedly closed a massive â¹150 crore OTT deal for the second part alone, nearly double the amount Netflix paid for the first film’s streaming rights.
