YSRC Counters Naidu Propaganda In Delhi

Within a couple of days of attack on YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu rushed to New Delhi to describe the incident as a conspiracy against his government.

He sought to use his tactics to impress upon the national media that YSRC was trying to blow a small issue out of proportion to defame him and his government under the direction of the BJP government.

However, Naidu did not get the kind of coverage he was expecting in the national media, as there was nothing new in his rhetoric against Modi and the Centre.

A couple of days later, YSR Congress party leaders went to Delhi to nail the lies of Naidu about the attack on Jagan. Readmore!

They met all the Constitutional authorities and Union home minister Rajnath Singh to explain the whole episode and sought an independent inquiry by central agencies into the incident.

And on Tuesday, the YSRC leaders explained to Delhi media as to what exactly happened. They put forth a simple question: who will get the benefit, if Jagan is killed in the knife attack? The obvious answer is:  Chandrababu Naidu.

“The finger of suspicion clearly points towards Naidu and his henchmen. The attack on Jagan was part of a larger conspiracy to eliminate him. It was a pre-meditated attack,” YSRC MP V Vijay Sai Reddy said.

He said that Naidu and Director General of Police R P Thakur in tandem tried to project the attacker as a fan of Jagan and tried to dilute the issue bringing up irrelevant and non-serious issues to the fore through press releases.

“Who will benefit with the elimination of Jagan will give the answer of who is behind the conspiracy,” he said.

Reddy also denied the propaganda that Jagan had refused to give statement to Andhra police saying he had no faith in them.

“All that we said was that we do not have faith in the state government and the DGP, who has been proactive and seems to be very close to the chief minister. That is the reason why we demanded a third party probe,” he said.
