In a sensational statement, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday asserted that his party won't extend any kind of support to the Bharatiya Janata Party after the elections.
“There is no question of supporting the BJP at the Centre, after the YSRCP comes to power in the assembly elections and win a good number of MP seats in parliament elections. The party has lost its credibility after joining hands with the Telugu Desam Party,” Jagan said, in an interview to senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai.
He alleged that both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress had become stooges of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and said his party would not support any of them after the elections at the Centre.
Jagan further alleged that the entry of Sharmila into Andhra Pradesh politics was a conspiracy hatched by Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy.
“Both of them instigated my sister against me,” he said, adding that it was Naidu who was operating the Congress party both in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh through Revanth Reddy and Sharmila.
Reacting to Sharmila contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Kadapa, the YSRCP president said he had no objection if she contested the elections.
“But what pains me a lot is that she will not get even the deposit in the Kadapa elections. It does not augur well for our family. She should not have contested the elections,” he said.
Jagan further said it was the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party, which had got his name and that of his father Y S Rajasekhar Reddy in the chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the alleged quid pro quo case.
