Vijayawada was once the political capital of the undivided Andhra Pradesh. The city had also been the capital for many things like culture, cinema, library movement, journalism and others.

It had great leaders like Ayyadevara Kaleswara Rao, who was the first Assembly speaker of Andhra Pradesh.

The city had seen stalwarts like Thammina Potharaju, Marupilla Chitti, who commanded state politics from the city.

It had also seen top leaders like Puchalapalli Sundaraiah, Chandra Rajeswara Rao, Makineni Basava Punnaiah, who commanded or rather made their presence felt in the national politics with their base in Vijayawada.   Readmore!

The political ideas born in this city mattered more in the State and national political arena for decades.

Now, look at the fate of this political nerve center or political capital of undivided Andhra Pradesh.

Who are our leaders today!? Buddha Venkanna, Bonda Uma, Devineni Uma, Panchumarthi Anuradha, representing the city in the State politics!

But for the loud mouth, what do they have to say? Do they have knowledge in any subject or do they know the history of this city?

Bhogaraju Pattabhi Sitaramaiah, Kakani Venkata Rathnam, Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao, to name a few top leaders of yesteryears, who were the face of Krishna district.
