If the reports coming from the national capital of Delhi are correct, the Narendra Modi government at the Centre is likely to shift Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan as the Governor of Telangana.
Dr Tamilisai is likely to be confined to Puducherry as the Lieutenant Governor and there will be a new Governor for Telangana. An indication to this effect was reportedly given to Dr Tamilisai, during her visit to New Delhi on Monday.
During her earlier visit to Delhi a few days ago, Tamilisai explained how the Telangana government was ill-treating the institution of Governor and boycotting the official functions at Raj Bhavan, besides denying her the protocol facilities she deserved.
She also told them how even the senior officials like the chief secretary and the director general of police were ignoring her. Even the district level officials like collectors and superintendents of police are violating the protocol whenever she visited their places.
Having listened to her complaints, the Modi government has decided to act tough with the TRS government headed by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Shah is learnt to have decided that Telangana needs a tougher Governor, who can show KCR his place.
So, when Tamilisai visited Delhi again on Monday, Shah reportedly told her that she could look after Puducherry and the Centre would appoint a new Governor for Telangana. There are reports that Tamilisai herself has asked the Centre to shift her from Telangana.
Reports said the Centre might transfer West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar to Telangana. It is a known fact that Dhankhar has become a thorn in the flesh of West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee by openly confronting her government and also hounding the government officials there.
If Dhankhar comes to Telangana, he would teach KCR a fitting lesson and bring down the latter’s arrogant attitude, source said.
Alternatively, the Centre is also said be considering the names of Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi. All the three Governors are veterans and are tough nuts to crack for KCR.
If these reports are true, then it is going to be a tough time for the TRS government in the coming days!
