Waltair Veerayya Interval, 8 Mins Of Poonakaalu

Director Bobby who is a die-hard fan of megastar Chiranjeevi got to work with his favorite star in the film Waltair Veerayya.

During the film’s press meet director Bobby shared the real inspiration for him to come to Hyderabad with a dream of directing Chiranjeevi and also thanked Ravi Teja who introduced him as a writer with Balupu and gave him the chance as a director with Power.

“I got to direct megastar Chiranjeevi garu in my fifth film- Waltair Veerayya. When I first narrated the plot, he told me, ‘The take-off is good and the characterization is good, but there’s no story in it.’

He was also particular about the deep emotion in it. Then, I worked on it again. The story was locked, though I had to work on the second half. Lockdown was announced and, in the meantime, I was supposed to work on the climax and write the villain’s portions. Readmore!

During that time, I got this idea of including Ravi Teja’s character. I called producer Naveen garu to share this proposal and he’s super happy.

When we approached Chiranjeevi garu, I narrated to him two versions. He liked the idea of including Rav Teja in the story and told me to work on it.

After completing the script work for 6 months, I approached Ravi Teja again and I told him to okay it, only if he likes the story and his character. He gave his nod in a single sitting.”

Bobby also gave leaks about the interval portion of the movie.

“The interval of 8 minutes will give you poonakaalu in theatres. It will be like how the megastar enters a big war. It’s a small tribute to him.”
