Vijayashanti Wants Removal Of Uttam As PCC Chief?

The Congress party in Telangana somehow managed to prevent the defection of senior actress-turned-politician and former Medak MP Vijayashanti from defecting to the Bharatiya Janata Party at least for the time being.

But the party leaders were reportedly shocked, when Vijayashanti demanded that present Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy be removed from the post and another suitable leader be appointed in his place.

Apparently, the former MP complained to the party leaders that Uttam Kumar Reddy had humiliated her and had never taken her into confidence while taking crucial decisions.

She told them she was never called for any meeting of the PCC, though she is heading the party’s campaign committee. Readmore!

She wondered why Uttam had not involved her in the party campaign in Dubbak by-elections, notwithstanding the fact that she had earlier represented Medak parliamentary constituency of which Dubbak is a part.

However, party sources said the high command was not interested in making any changes in the PCC leadership for now.

The brief given to new AICC in-charge of Telangana affairs Manickam Tagore is said to be ensuring a coordination among the party leaders without the change of leadership at present.

“The party will make appropriate changes in the PCC at an appropriate time. Till such time, there should not be any lobbying or demand by any party leaders for the change in PCC leadership,” the high command reportedly told Tagore.

So, if that is the scenario, one wonders how long Vijayashanti could be retained in the Congress party.
