YSR Congress party on Thursday lashed out at the indifferent attitude of former MLA and Telugu Desam Party leader Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, son of Kapu fighter late Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga, in espousing the cause of Kapu community.
Speaking at the 36th death anniversary of Ranga at Vijayawada, YSRCP leader Pothina Mahesh strongly criticized Ranga's son, Vangaveeti Radha’s silence and inaction in fighting for the Kapu community's cause.
Mahesh stated that Vangaveeti Ranga was a great leader who stood for the lives of poor people and remains an eternal inspiration.
“Ranga had taught how to stand firm for ideals and that portraying Ranga as a leader of only one community is part of a political conspiracy,” he said.
However, Mahesh said, Vangaveeti Radha had ended up merely being a family heir without carrying forward Ranga's ideals.
He criticized Radha for not speaking a single word about Kapu reservations and accused him of focusing only on statue inaugurations while failing to stand for Ranga's principles.
Mahesh expressed his disappointment over Radha's silence on Kapu community issues, despite Kapu leaders facing oppression.
He lamented that Radha only comes forward during elections and remains absent on other critical issues, causing pain to Ranga's followers.
He questioned why Radha never demanded that the district be named after Ranga.
“Radha has benefited white-collar criminals and landlords instead of prioritizing public welfare,” he alleged.
The YSRCP leader emphasized that Radha should focus on fulfilling Ranga's ideals rather than aiming for positions of power.
He expressed regret that Radha has joined hands with individuals undermining the future of the backward classes.
