Uttam To Become CWC Member?

It is only a matter of two or three weeks that Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy will continue in his post.

He has already announced that he would step down as the PCC chief soon after the municipal elections, which would be completed by January 25. Since the chances of the Congress party capturing any municipalities are very bleak, Uttam will not have any locus standi in continuing in the post.

But, what next for Uttam? Of course, he can enjoy his position as the Congress MP from Nalgonda for another four and a half years. But he will not have any identity in the party unless he holds any position.

Party sources said the high command had given him an assurance that he would be given some respectable position in the party at the national level like AICC secretary or treasurer post. Readmore!

However, there are reports that Uttam is lobbying for a membership in the Congress Working Committee, the highest policy making body of the party.

For a quite long time, there has been no representation to the Telugu states in the CWC. So, if Uttam manages to get the CWC membership, it will boost the party’s moral strength.

But there is always a slip between cup and lip. One doubts whether the northern lobby would allow Uttam to get into the CWC.
