Uttam cousin's plan to defect to TRS backfires!

The leakage of a mobile call made by senior Congress leader and former Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy’s cousin Padi Kaushik Reddy to a leader in Huzurabad district has landed him in deep soup.

In the telephonic call, Kaushik was heard saying that he was defecting to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and his candidature for Huzurabad by-elections was confirmed by the TRS leadership.

He was heard asking the local leader to mobilise as many Congress leaders as possible to defect to the TRS along with him and he was ready to pay the money for their mobilisation.

Within hours of the leakage of the phone call, the PCC disciplinary committee led by M Kodanda Reddy issued a show-cause notice to Kaushik Reddy, seeking his explanation for resorting to anti-party activities for quite some time. Readmore!

The committee gave him 24 hours’ time to give the explanation.

A few weeks ago, pictures and videos of Kaushik Reddy having a meeting with TRS working president and IT minister K T Rama Rao surfaced in the media, creating embarrassment to the party.

Since Uttam was still heading the PCC then, he did not take any action against his cousin.

Meanwhile, the TRS leadership is also said to be very serious over Kaushik Reddy’s mobile call leak.

According to sources, KCR was not happy with the way Kaushik Reddy claiming to have been confirmed with the TRS ticket.

Though KTR had promised him to get the Huzurabad ticket, KCR was not interested in him, sources said.

TRS leader from Huzurabad Krishnamohan, who is also expecting the party ticket, fired at Kaushik Reddy for claiming that he was confirmed as the TRS candidate for Huzurabad.

“How can a Congress leader claim the TRS ticket? So far, the TRS boss has not finalised any name,” he said.

Meanwhile, newly-appointed PCC chief A Revanth Reddy is also upset with Kaushik Reddy plans.

In fact, he was considering Kaushik’s name for Huzurabad, but with the latest episode, Revanth will change his plans on the Huzurabad candidature.
