The 18th foundation day celebrations of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in Telangana on April 27 will be on a very low key this year.
In fact, the party is expected to have the foundation day celebrations in a big way as they are being held for the first time after the return of the party to power for a second term in the state. Moreover, the party is also expected to gain big victory in the parliament elections as well.
Thirdly, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s son and Siricilla MLA K T Rama Rao has been anointed as the working president of the party after the assembly elections and so, for the first time, the foundation day is being held with KTR at the helm of affairs.
KCR has already declared that it will be KTR who will be handling the entire party affairs hereafter.
Yet, KTR decided against celebrating the party foundation day in a big way. He told reporters that since there was election code in the state it was decided to make the celebrations simple.
The party leaders and cadre have been asked to hoist the party flag in their native places to mark the formation day of the party on April 27.
The important leaders including functionaries, MLAs, MLCs and MPs have also been asked to take part in flag hoisting program. There would be flag hoisting programs right from village to district level.
There will be no plenary of the TRS and also the customary public meeting this year, as is the case with every year.
May be, the party will have a plenary at a later stage, probably on KTR’s birthday in July, by which time there would be clarity on his elevation to the post of chief minister.
