Actor Sivaji appears to be blaming political forces for the poor performance of his latest film “Sampradayini Suppini Suddapusaani.”
The film, produced under his new banner Sivaji Productions, released last week but received very poor reviews from critics.
The movie also struggled at the box office, with first weekend collections reportedly remaining extremely low.
Following the disappointing result, Sivaji expressed his frustration and alleged that political groups deliberately targeted the film with negative publicity.
According to him, the film initially received mixed reactions, but certain political supporters began spreading negative comments on social media.
He claimed they made extra efforts to amplify criticism online, which discouraged audiences from visiting theatres.
However, Sivaji has not addressed another major factor — the film’s uniformly poor reviews across media outlets, which also played a key role in its weak reception.
