Thakur Takes On Telugu Dubbing Challenge for 'Family Star'

Amazon Prime Video revealed its lineup of 43 titles on Tuesday, which includes the film "Family Star" starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur.

For Thakur, this marks a significant milestone as she prepares to lend her voice for the first time in Telugu cinema, despite having previously appeared in Telugu films such as "Sita Ramam" (2022) and "Hi Nanna" (2023).

Thakur began her dubbing sessions in Hyderabad yesterday and is expected to complete them by the end of the month.

The director of the romantic drama, Parasuram, suggested that Thakur should dub her own dialogues, given her ongoing efforts to learn the language since 2020. Readmore!

A source disclosed, "Parasuram wanted the portrayal to be genuine, so he insisted on Thakur dubbing for her character. She demonstrated fluency with her lines on set, which gave him confidence in her ability to deliver her dialogues smoothly. He will be present to assist her throughout the dubbing process."

For Thakur, this decision feels like a natural progression as she continues to balance her commitments between Hindi and Telugu cinema.

"I've experienced significant success in the Telugu film industry over the past two years, and I can no longer avoid the challenge of fully immersing myself in it. Not using my own voice is no longer an option. Audiences are connecting with me, and it's only fair that I fully commit to them. I'm thankful to the director for allowing me to showcase my language skills in this way," expressed the actor.
