Sharmila Takes Pawan's Route In Telangana

If it is Power Star and Jana Sena Party President Pawan Kalyan who has been calling for unity among the opposition to prevent the splitting of the anti-incumbency vote in Andhra Pradesh against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, it is Jagan’s sister, Y S Sharmila, who wants the opposition parties to come together to fight against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi government in Telangana.

On Thursday, the YSR Telangana Party President wrote to the state presidents of all opposition parties and invited them to join her in the demand for President's Rule in Telangana.

In the letter, Sharmila appealed to the leaders to join her in meeting the President in New Delhi and apprising him of the worsening law and order situation in the state.

She said the opposition party cadres and leaders were repeatedly being targeted by the BRS party hooligans, who were given a free hand in unleashing murderous attacks on those who raised their voices against KCR. Readmore!

Sharmila personally addressed the letters to State Congress President A Revanth Reddy, BJP State President Bandi Sanjay, Telangana TDP President Kasani Gyaneshwar, AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi, Telangana Jana Samithi President M Kodandaram, Bahujan Samaj Party President R S Praveen Kumar, CPI (M) Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram, and CPI State Secretary Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, among others.

In her letter, Sharmila explained the urgent need to join hands and set the situation right by ensuring that President's rule is enforced since the abuse of power and unabated atrocities of the BRS government is taking its toll on the entire state.

Wherever KCR’s corruption and his colleagues’ misdeeds were questioned, there were attacks and the use of police power. Telangana, which was built on the foundation of sacrifices, lies at the crossroads, where democracy, the right to speech, and constitutional privileges were being crushed, she said.

“We need to rise, join hands and wage this battle for the sake of future generations. This is a historic necessity, and so I am extending this invitation to join me in calling on the President,” she added.
