What was meant to break YSRCP has instead strengthened it. The attack by TDP cadres on former minister Ambati Rambabu’s house has unexpectedly given YSRCP a fresh political face; Ambati Mounika, his elder daughter.
As they say, good can come out of bad. Rambabu’s arrest and the violent attack on his home pushed his family into a crisis.
With Rambabu in jail, only women were left at home. In this tough moment, Ambati Mounika stepped up and took charge.
For the first time, she faced the media; calm, clear and fearless. She narrated how TDP workers attacked their house and how her children were terrified. Her words struck a chord.
Calling herself a proud Kapu daughter, Mounika directly questioned Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan. She asked how such lawlessness was possible when he is part of the government. She also sharply criticised Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar.
Many were surprised. Mounika had never been active in politics before. Yet, she spoke with confidence, logic and clarity; without hesitation. Political circles are now saying she spoke even more sharply than her father.
Her strong questions and composed style have created buzz that a new young Kapu woman leader has arrived on the political stage.
Ironically, all this is being credited to TDP’s overreaction. The talk now is simple: TDP tried to intimidate YSRCP; but ended up gifting it a powerful new leader.
If Ambati Mounika continues with the same dignity and sharp thinking, she could soon become a strong voice from the Kapu community.
