Roja rejected Balayya request fearing Jagan?

The popular talk show Unstoppable with NBK being hosted by senior actor and Telugu Desam Party legislator Nandamuri Balakrishna on OTT platform Aha has been receiving good response, though he has facing criticism for his erratic choice of guests for the show.

Especially, the season-II of the show, which began with TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh, has been a little boring, though the episodes with former chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and popular actor Prabhas evoked some interest.

There is a talk now that controversial politician and power star Pawan Kalyan also might future in Unstoppable with NBK show along with writer-director Krish during Sankranti festival and this is being eagerly awaited.

Sometime back, there were reports that actress-turned-YSR Congress party leader and Andhra Pradesh tourism minister R K Roja might also take part in Balakrishna show on Aha. But it did not happen. Readmore!

On Friday, however, Roja confirmed that she had indeed got the invitation from Balakrishna to take part in the Unstoppable with NBK show.

“Balakrishna invited me for the show long ago, but I politely turned down his invitation expressing my helplessness,” she said.

Giving an explanation for the same, Roja said she was apprehensive that her boss and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy might not appreciate if she attended the Balakrishna show.

“I was afraid that my detractors within the party might carry tales to Jagan against me. That’s why I did not go to Balakrishna show,” she said.

Roja, however, said she had high respect towards Balakrishna, irrespective of the political affiliation.

“Wherever we meet, he talks to me very affectionately. Even in the assembly, we maintain friendly relations. He always tells me that politics is different from personal relations,” she said.

At the same time, Roja was all praise for Jagan for not interfering in her personal activities.

“He never questions me about my apolitical activities. Even when I was doing Jabardast show, many people in the party tried to spoil his mind about me. But he did not bother about them and never questioned me about them,” she said.

In fact, Balakrishna and Roja had good affinity towards each other right from the days of their film days. Both of them acted in several films. Though they belong to different political parties, they continue to maintain friendship.

“It would have been a big hit had Roja attended Unstoppable with NBK show. Even Allu Arvind wanted her to attend the show. But because of political reasons, she preferred to stay away from the show,” a source said.
