Thotakura Somaraju, better known as Raj, passed away. On Sunday, he breathed his last at his home in Hyderabad. He's Raj, one half of the popular music composers duo Raj-Koti.
Raj and Koti dominated Telugu film music in the 1990s. Koti and Raj, who collaborated on nearly 200 films, revolutionized Telugu film music for mass movies.
Some of the best albums by the Raj-Koti duo are Yamudiki Mogudu, Khaidi No.786, Shatruvu, Muta Mestri, and Govinda Govinda.
Raj had also worked solo in the films — Sisindri, Premante Idhera and Ramudochadu. The music director is survived by his daughters Swetha, Divya and Deepthi.
The final rites of Raj will take place at Mahaprasthanam in Hyderabad.
