Radha joins Lokesh padayatra; to stay back in TDP?

Strange are the ways of Kapu leader and former MLA from Vijayawada Vangaveeti Radhakrishna. On record, he continues to be in the Telugu Desam Party, but doesn’t take part in any of the party activities much.

He moves closely with YSR Congress party legislators Kodali Nani and Vallabhaneni Vamsi, but doesn’t commit himself to returning to the YSRC.

He also allows the Jana Sena Party leaders use his photographs during the birth and death anniversaries of his father Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga.

When there were strong rumours a few days ago that Radhakrishna would resign from the Telugu Desam Party and join the Jana Sena Party, he did neither confirm nor deny the rumours.  Readmore!

His silence led to the talk that he might jump the fence to join Jana Sena, where he reportedly got an assurance for the party ticket from Vijayawada central assembly seat – as he did not get such an assurance from the TDP.

On Tuesday, Radhakrishna sprang a surprise by going all the way to Kalikiri of Pileru assembly constituency in Chittoor district to join TDP general secretary and party president N Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh in his padayatra.

Radhakrishna walked along with Lokesh for some time and extended his solidarity with the young leader. Both of them spent some time holding discussions at the padayatra camp and posed for photographs.

This has led to the talk as to whether Radhakrishna has dropped his plans to quit the TDP and decided to continue in the party. Interestingly, he has not made any statement so far, saying that he will not quit the party.

Last week, there was a statement on the social media, purported to have been issued by Radha Yuva Sena, strongly condemning the rumours that he would be defecting from the TDP to Jana Sena.

“It is absolutely rubbish that Vangaveeti would be resigning from the TDP. It is a conspiracy to defame him. Nobody should believe such rumours and Radha will continue in the TDP. There is no need for any clarifications again and again,” the Radha Yuva Sena said in the statement.

Stating that Vangaveeti doesn’t have the culture of changing parties for the posts or positions, the statement said the former MLA was known for clean politics and integrity.

“There is no need for Vangaveeti Radha’s fans and followers to believe such rumours,” the Yuva Sena said.
