Akhanda is a blockbuster hit as per the box office records. The film was marketed at Rs 28 Cr in Andhra, Rs 10 Cr in Ceded.
Though the government released the GO on reduced ticket prices, it left the film to do its business in its own way.
So, tickets were sold at uniform rate in Ceded at Rs 150 and in Andhra at Rs 100. Until the first week crosses with good collections, the breakeven is difficult.
If Akhanda that was sold at Rs 38 Cr is seeing this plight, what could be the situation of Pushpa that was sold at Rs 68 Cr?
They have to see a Rs 500 uniform ticket which is difficult. If the tickets are sold in black, then the exhibitors can get benefitted.
So, at Rs 100- Rs 150 per ticket, Pushpa has to do a houseful run for three weeks to make a break even. Only after that the profits can be counted.
Spiderman is going to give competition in the multiplexes to Pushpa. Shyam Singha Roy is also coming in the 2nd week. So, the only way left for the film industry is the government increasing the ticket prices.
Sources say that Mythri Movie Makers are making their moves in this regard. We have to see where it ends.
