BJP leaders in Kakinada and beyond are upset with Andhra Pradesh BJP president Daggubati Purandeswari's campaign methods for the assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
They accuse her of prioritizing her own interests over the party's beliefs.
Specifically, they're unhappy that she sidelined BJP candidate M.S. Krishnam Raju in Anaparthi and gave the seat to TD candidate Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy after making him join BJP.
These actions, they fear, could harm BJP's standing in Andhra Pradesh, especially when the party's prospects in the state are uncertain.
They criticize Purandeswari for not showing the same dedication to BJP as former leaders like K. Haribabu, Kanna Lakshminarayana, and Somu Veerraju.
Moreover they allege that Purandeswari is consulting with TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu before issuing B forms even to BJP leaders.
They also accuse her of neglecting the Kapu community, which has significant numbers in Godavari districts, by denying them representation.
“She has not given a single seat to Kapus, who are in sizeable numbers in Godavari districts. Kapu community leaders like Dr. Akula Satyanarayana had won from Rajamahendravaram, Pendem Dorababu won from Pithapuram, late Pydikondala Manikyala Rao won from Tadepalligudem previously. Yet she has denied any representation to Kapus,” charged BJP Kakinada district former vice president Chitneedi Srinivas, who recently joined YSRC in the presence of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
“Purandeswari has no party interest, only self-interest,” remarked a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Some BJP members have even switched to YSRC due to these grievances.
They feel Purandeswari is only looking out for herself and has prioritized TDP's interests over BJP's neglecting potential wins in Kakinada and Rajamahendravaram Urban seats.
Many are alleging that Purandeshwari is spoiling the prospects of BJP in AP with her own whims, fancies and selfish interests.
