Prashant Kishor, chief of the Jan Suraaj Party, disclosed that he has earned over â¹100 crore by advising political leaders and parties as a poll strategist.
Speaking at an election rally for the upcoming by-elections in Bihar, Kishor explained that his advisory fees allow him to fund his campaign initiatives independently.
“A single election advice for one political party covers my campaign expenses for the next two years,” Kishor said.
“Ten state governments operate using my strategies. Do you think I lack funds for campaign tents and canopies? My fees are unheard of in Bihar. Advising just one party in an election earns me â¹100 crore or more, funding my campaign for years.”
Jan Suraaj has fielded four candidates in the upcoming Bihar by-elections: Mohammad Amjad in Belaganj, Jitendra Paswan in Imamganj, Sushil Kumar Singh Kushwaha in Ramgarh, and Kiran Singh in Tarari.
Though Kishor promised to support candidates with a “clean image,” reports from TOI highlight that three of his candidates face serious criminal charges, including kidnapping, attempted murder, extortion, theft, and assault.
Officially launched on October 2 in Patna, the Jan Suraaj Party has evolved from a grassroots initiative into a formal political party, active for two to three years and now registered with the Election Commission of India.
The party aims to contest all 243 seats in the Bihar assembly elections anticipated in October-November 2025. Committed to gender representation, Kishor announced that Jan Suraaj would field 40 female candidates, aiming to reshape Bihar’s political landscape.
