Pic: Assailant Was Not Jagan Fan, But TDP Man!

Ever since there was an attempt on the life of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at the Visakhapatnam airport on Thursday afternoon, the Telugu Desam Party government, the Andhra Pradesh police and the TDP leaders sought to project it as a stage-managed show and a drama by the YSRC.

While Director General of Police R P Thakur, within an hour of the attack, declared that the assailant, identified as Janipalli Srinivasa Rao from Mummidivaram, was a fan of Jagan.

In another hour, the TDP leaders came out with a flex poster the pictures of Srinivas with Jagan.

Reporters of various media houses rushed to the residence of the accused to interview his brother, who apparently parroted the words of the powers-that-be stating that he was a big fan of Jagan and YSRC. Readmore!

In the night, TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu showed a letter purportedly written by Srinivas saying he was Jagan’s fan.

Naidu completely washed off his hands saying the incident happened in the airport which is under the control of the central forces and the assailant was a YSRC worker and therefore, the TDP or the state government had nothing to do with the incident.

But independent inquiries in Mummidivaram revealed that Srinivas was not exactly a fan of Jagan or YSR, but a TDP activist.

He actively participated in the TDP programmes wearing yellow scarf.

The TDP government gave him a pucca house and two loans. His brother who told the other channels in the afternoon that he was a YSRC worker, later changed his version and said Srinivas was indeed a TDP activist.

It was because of his affiliation to the TDP that he could get a job as a cooking assistant in Fusion Foods Restaurant in Visakhapatnam airport, sources said.

If the sources are to be believed, then the entire episode was masterminded by the TDP to throw blame on Jagan to malign his image stating that he was resorting to high drama to gain public sympathy!
