Senior Dalit leader and former MP from Amalapuram parliamentary constituency G V Harsh Kumar, who has announced that he will be returning to his parent party Congress soon, was originally planning to join the Jana Sena Party.
Harsh Kumar told a news channel on Monday that he was very much keen on joining the Jana Sena Party long ago and had sent many of his followers into that party.
“I had been waiting for a call from Pawan Kalyan, actor and founder of Jana Sena inviting me into Jana Sena but it never happened,” he said.
At one stage, there were reports that Pawan Kalyan himself had thought of coming to Harsh Kumar’s residence to invite the latter personally into the Jana Sena.
“I don’t know what happened to him or his plans. But he neither came to me nor gave me a call,” Harsh Kumar said.
The ex-MP admitted that he had caused immense damage to Praja Rajyam Party set up by Pawan’s mega brother and actor Chiranjeevi in 2008.
“Because of my attitude and lack of cooperation, Chiranjeevi might have been upset me. I admit that I was responsible for the defeat of Praja Rajyam in at least two districts,” he said.
Perhaps that could be the reason why Pawan Kalyan had not believed Harsh Kumar.
“He might have felt insure while considering my name for admission into Jana Sena. That was why, he did not take me into Jana Sena Party,” the ex-MP added.
