At a time when the entire Telugu community is celebrating the 101st birth anniversary of legendary actor, Telugu Desam Party founder-president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N T Rama Rao, his son-in-law N Chandrababu Naidu, who usurped the former’s post and position is missing.
Naidu, along with his wife Nara Bhuvaneshwari, son Nara Lokesh and other family members, had gone abroad within a week after the completion of the polling for the assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state on May 13.
Though his party leaders said Naidu had gone to the USA for health check-up, there has been no information from him till now. Nobody knows which state in the US he had gone and what he was doing there.
Of course, he had issued a couple of statements to the media and written a couple of letters to the Election Commission on post-poll violence and also on the interviews to select conferred IAS officers. But the letters were released by the party without disclosing from where they had come.
On Tuesday too, Naidu and Lokesh posted messages on their social media platforms, to pay tributes to NTR on his 101st birth anniversary, while all the other family members, including NTR’s daughter and state BJP president Daggubati Purandeshwari and son Nandamuri Balakrishna, paid floral tributes at NTR Ghat near Necklace Road in Hyderabad.
There were celebrations at the TDP state office at Mangalagiri as well, but it was attended by a few people like Devineni Uma, K Parthasarathy and others. The usual hungama of the party workers at the event was missing.
The TDP has already cancelled its two-day Mahanadu, supposed to be held on May 27 and 28 on the pretext of election code.
The biennial conclave might be held in June, provided the TDP comes to power and Naidu becomes the CM!
