The YSR Congress party leadership seems to be struggling to find a right candidate for several Lok Sabha seats and has been experimenting with reshuffling of candidates again and again.
The latest talk rounds in the party is that the YSRCP is likely to change the candidate for Machilipatnam Lok Sabha seat as well.
A month ago, party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy announced the name of Avanigadda MLA Simhadri Ramesh Babu for the seat.
Though Ramesh Babu is keen on contesting for the assembly elections, Jagan forced him to move to Machilipatnam Lok Sabha constituency.
Even as he started preparing the ground for his electioneering, there is a sudden news that Jagan might shift him from there again.
According to the reports, the YSRCP leadership is in talks with former MLA, Kapu strongman and Telugu Desam Party leader Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, so as to bring him into the ruling party.
Vangaveeti’s name did not figure in the first list of candidates released by the TDP-Jana Sena Party combine early this week. He was expecting the party ticket from either Vijayawada (central) or Vijayawada (east) which he represented past.
But TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu allotted the two seats to Bonda Uma and Gadde Rammohan Rao respectively.
The Vijayawada central is expected to be given to Jana Sena Party, though there is a tough competition from ex-MLA Jaleel Khan.
So, Vangaveeti realised that he had no chance to contest from the TDP.
He was upset because the party leadership did not even call him and talk to him about his political future. So, he is said to be looking up to the YSRCP again.
It is learnt his close friends from YSRCP Kodali Nani and Perni Nani held discussions with Vangaveeti and invited him into the party.
They, however, could not give any assurance on the party ticket to Vangaveeti from Vijayawada, as the party has already selected candidates for all the three constituencies.
So, the YSRCP leaders have reportedly proposed his name for Machilipatnam Lok Sabha seat. It is not immediately known whether Vangaveeti has accepted the proposal.
If he does, it is only a matter of time for him to defect to the YSRCP, sources said.
