Yash is back in the spotlight with the teaser of his upcoming film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups.
The two-minute teaser has grabbed attention mainly because Yash appears in two very different looks—one with long hair and a beard, and the other completely clean-shaven.
The clean-shaven look, in particular, shocked fans and social media users.
After staying in the bearded KGF avatar for several years, many found it hard to recognise him at first. Some trolls even commented, “Without a beard, he is nothing.”
However, Yash’s new look seems to be a silent reply to the trolls.
One fan wrote, “For a moment, I thought they introduced another actor. I was shocked when I realised it was Yash.”
Another commented, “I’m proud to be a Yash fan. He takes risks and tries something new, unlike many actors who repeat the same roles.”
Some fans also recalled how Yash was earlier seen covering his face during the film’s shoot.
“Now we know why he was hiding his face,” one user posted. Others mocked the trolls, saying, “People said Yash is nothing without a beard. Meanwhile, Yash says—wait and watch.”
Interestingly, it was earlier reported that KGF director Prashanth Neel had initially imagined Rocky Bhai without a beard in KGF Chapter 2. But since the bearded look became iconic, Yash chose to retain it back then.
Toxic is directed by Geetu Mohandas and is produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations.
The film stars Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth alongside Yash.
Shot in Kannada and English, Toxic will also release in dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. The film is set to hit theatres on March 19 and will clash with Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
Whether trolled or praised, one thing is clear—Yash’s new look has everyone talking.
