The Congress, however, started its poll campaign with a massive public meeting at Jogulamba Gadwal on Thursday, where the party leaders vowed to work to bring Congress to power.

The BJP is struggling to prove its identity yet. Its president Amit Shah inspired the party cadres in his first visit in September and is scheduled to address a public meeting in Karimnagar on October 10.

While the TRS is harping on the welfare schemes it had launched for various vulnerable and weaker sections, the opposition is highlighting the failure of the TRS to fulfil its 2014 promises, apart from the suicides of farmers and weavers, incomplete irrigation projects, pushing the rich state into debts among others.
