It was a day of festivities in Telangana on Monday, as Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders and cadre celebrated the birthday of their beloved leader and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
There was virtually no other activity in any of the government departments on Monday, as the officials and employees competed with one another in celebrating KCR’s birthday in a big way.
Following the call given by KCR’s son K T Rama Rao, the government departments, including the police, spent the whole day in “tree plantation” programme, notwithstanding the fact that it is the onset of summer and no tree will survive if there is no watering continuously till monsoon.
Generally, such tree plantation programmes are taken up just before the commencement of monsoon, so that the plants will survive and grow by next summer. Yet, out of their “devotion” for KCR, the departments and officials spent huge amounts on tree plantation programmes.
Greetings poured in for KCR from all parts of the country – right from President of India Ramnath Kovind to vice president M Venkaiah Naidu to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to leaders like Amit Shah, several Union ministers, chief ministers of various states and even opposition leaders like N Chandrababu Naidu.
What is more significant of the entire day’s celebrations is the clamour from the party leaders and cadres for KCR’s elevation to the post of Prime Minister of India.
KCR’s close aide and minister Vemula Prashant Reddy conducted special prayer wishing KCR to become the Prime Minister of the country soon.
There was a talk that KCR will relinquish his post of CM in favour of his son K T Rama Rao on February 17, when he turned 66 years (his favourite number being six).
By raising the demand for KCR’s growth as the PM of India, the party leaders indirectly conveyed that he should step down in favour of his son KTR!
