No alliance with TDP at any cost, reiterates BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday categorically denied the reports that appeared in a section of media that it was contemplating having an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party in Telangana.

The reports quoted BJP general secretary in-charge of Telangana affairs telling media persons New Delhi that the BJP was trying to join hands with TDP in Telangana for the upcoming assembly polls.

Chugh on Friday rubbished the reports, saying his party has no intention to have a tie with TDP in the State.

“The reports are completely fallacious and mischievous and aimed at creating a false narrative,” he said. Readmore!

He said he had not said anything about the alliance with the TDP in an informal meet with friends, including a few from the media in New Delhi.

“I didn’t say anything that could even remotely be construed to the idea of an alliance with TDP or the suggestion that we would stand by Smt Sharmila in Telangana,” he said.

“Some political parties who have lost base and relevance in the state are taking recourse to false propaganda on the BJP and possible alliances,” he said.

Chugh said the BJP is strong enough in Telangana to defeat TRS singularly as it has emerged as the only alternative in the state.

“As the In-charge of BJP in Telangana, I once again condemn this misinformation campaign and request media to refrain from rumour-mongering,” he said.
