Kavali Greeshma, a firebrand legislative council member of the Telugu Desam Party and daughter of former assembly speaker Kavali Pratibha Bharati, is known for her sharp rhetoric against the opposition.
The party leaders say she has a bright political future, but admit that they do not have much idea about her personal life.
She often maintains a low profile about her family, while taking active part in the TDP politics in Srikakulam district.
Greeshma, who was inducted into the Legislative Council after the coalition government assumed power in 2024, has built a reputation for aggressively countering YSRCP criticism in the House.
Her political rise, particularly after a viral moment at the party’s Mahanadu event, has earned her significant support among TDP cadres.
In a latest media interview, Greeshma disclosed her personal life, stating that her current marriage to Srinivas is her second.
She said her first marriage in 2013 faced severe strain following the death of her son, leading to emotional distress and a decision to stay away from relationships.
She recounted meeting Srinivas through a common friend during a period when she was focused on yoga and meditation. Their first meeting reportedly lasted several hours, during which they discussed caste dynamics, national politics, and economic issues.
“We decided on marriage the very same day after a deep and meaningful conversation,” she said, adding that both families initially had reservations but later agreed after discussions.
Greeshma said she chose to speak openly to counter perceptions of a “glossy” political life. Her remarks have since gone viral on social media.
